JEEP

Dorothy Wills-Doncaster at home

In 1999 I mistakenly bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee.  I had been reassured by the salesman that it was designed and built by British craftsmen at Land Rover, only to discover that it is American.  Like all Americans (other than the late Miss Rosemary Clooney and her very pleasant son George) it is loud, clumsy, garish, unreliable, immodest, consumes vast amounts of cash, has little regard for the environment and is an embarrassment to be seen with in public.

I urge you never to buy a Jeep, or any other Chrysler vehicle.  You will pay an excessive amount for servicing, components that need replacing will never be available, Jeep head office will offer little or no support to the acnied adolescents employed by your local dealership - and when something goes seriously wrong they will deny any responsibility and will attempt to charge you huge sums of money to ‘diagnose’ what the problem might be.

I despise Jeep.  The only slight compensation is that you can comfortably house a dozen fowl in a Grand Cherokee during the winter months - and it will sleep eight Polish fruit pickers during July and August.

In my not so humble opinion, the Jeep organisation is quite despicable – and to be avoided at all costs.
